Dr. Margo DelaGarza Psychotherapy and Counseling Services, Relationship Counseling and Family counseling

Dr. DelaGarza is the author of "Mindfulness for a Peaceful Existence".

My mission is to provide personalized, high-quality mental healthcare services on an as-needed or preventative basis.  I have created a model of wellness that I believe in and that is based on empirical research and best-practices.

I work collaboratively with each client in order to provide informed, consistent care at all times.

The foundation of my approach is mindfulness.

More about me:

I began my career in 1998, working with adolescents. Since then, I have provided mental

healthcare and psycho-educational services for individuals, couples, and families in a

variety of settings. I provide professional trainings to nonprofit agencies, school districts,

hospitals, residential treatment centers, substance abuse rehabilitation centers,

and municipal and county courts.

I have extensive experience providing group and Individual sessions for those

experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD/trauma, substance abuse and eating disorders. I am

trained In Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral

Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness.

For couples therapy, I am trained in the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

I primarily use methods from The Gottman Institute.

I have provided individual and group therapy at a recovery center for people struggling with

addiction and at a psychiatric hospital providing inpatient and outpatient services.

I served as the clinical director for a recovery center for men in high profile positions.

I work collaboratively with Rich Whitman of Whitman Recovery Services when individuals need interventions and inpatient treatment.

I was trained as an Early Childhood Clinician for the Early Childhood Well-Being Project
and I am experienced in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.  Although I am primarily focused on working with adults and teens at this time, this experience gave me a deep understanding of human development and how childhood experiences affect individuals later in life. I am certified in the Nurturing Parenting Program and I'm a

Trainer of Trainers for the 40 Developmental Assets.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. I completed my undergraduate

and master’s degrees in psychology at the University of Texas at San Antonio and

my doctorate at St. Mary’s University.  I have over 20 years of experience working with adults,

couples, adolescents and children.
